There are a number of ways you can get involved and help your neighborhood.
proper noun; old school: 1. hero
2. a person who helps organize their block to improve communication and
build community.
3. a unique individual.
Take some responsibility on your block. Help people get to know one another and build community. Improve safety, cleanliness and sense of pride amongst your immediate neighbors. This is where the rubber meets the road. Be a hero, sign up to get involved.
Contact Leela Gill at leela@nopna.org to get involved.

Fulfill your dreams of being a paperboy/girl ! Every other month, more than 2500 newsletters have to be hand-delivered around the North of Panhandle neighborhood. You can do it while you walk your dog, or count it as your evening "constitutional". Wayne Edfors, newsletter delivery coordinator, will deliver the newsletters to your door, with your "route assignment" (guaranteed not to be more than 4 blocks from your house, of course); all you have to do is take a walk. It also gives you a good excuse to talk to that cute neighbor that you always see washing their car!
You can try it out once or twice, or commit for a longer period.
Duties:
Contact Will at cynsa@ix.netcom.com for more details or to volunteer.
We have a dedicated group of people writing and producing the newsletter, but we need help. If you want to volunteer some time, but need to do it on your own time, this is a great place to start.
